Bunny Blanket

This is my own take on the crochet Lion Brand Bunny Blanket.  I just used scrap yarns for mine, and made it a lot bigger for a toddler.

Bear Blanket

This was made for my hand made bears collection.  I used the simple wash cloth pattern, decorated it a bit and added a bear head.  I look forward to making more of these with different animals and colors.  Although I don’t think that I will use fingering weight again, just DK or worsted.  The fingering weight took forever.  I used Plymouth Dream Baby Fingering Weight for this project.  It is a microfiber.

Blue Chair Throw

Wednesday, February 18th, 2009

This was made from yarn I received in a trade.  A joy to work with and super warm.  I would like to get more of this to make a sweater.  Dimensions are about 4 x 4 feet.

Materials:

6 balls of TLC boucle

Size 7 circular needle

Pattern:

Cast on 3 stitches

Increase every other row 1 stitch on each end

Keep in pattern throughout entire blanket as follows:  right side (k1, p1) wrong side (purl) this will create a broken rib pattern so that it will look like ribbing without drawing in.

when you have finished the third ball, start decreasing every other row by knitting two together till you have 3 stitches left.

Bind off last three stitches.

Single Bed Afghan 3

Wednesday, February 18th, 2009

This is the third afghan that I crochet.  I am hoping that it will be my last as these take a lot of time to do.  This was also done in panels of double crochet (25 sts) by 20 rows each.  I then added on a 2 row border around each panel with the blue.  This is very warm, and very easy to wash.  It does get softer with each wash and hold up much better than the pink blanket and does not pill like the striped blanket.

Materials:

Size H hook, 4 balls of Carron One Pound yarn, 2 balls of Carron Simply soft

The blanket has 35 panels (5 x 7).

Single Bed Afghan 2

This was made for Becca for her new room.  I used 2 balls of Super Soft baby yarn in those HUGE balls.  It did not take as long because it was crochet in smaller pannels of double crochet.  Then each pannel was sewn together and a border was put all the way around the blanket.  This yarn did not get as soft as I thought it would have in the wash.  I was a bit disappointed.  I don’t think that there is any way to get acryllic to soften up.  Each panel is 25 stitches across and there are 12 total panels.

Materials:

2 balls of light worsted weight pink baby yarn Pound of Love (800 yds per ball), size G crochet hook.
