Birthday Socks

Posted by Jen on Monday Apr 13, 2009 Under Socks

WOW! The first pair of socks that fit me.  I finally finished these a week after my birthday.  I am now trying to learn knitting two socks at a time on one circ.  These were done using the magic loop method one at a time.

Cashmere Double Mobius Scarf

Posted by Jen on Monday Apr 6, 2009 Under Shawls and Wraps

Okay, I have no clue how this happened, but I love it!  I was making a mobius scarf because my friend made one and I loved it.  I had to double my stitches though because I was using an almost fingering weight and she was using a bulky weight.  I used a size 5 needle and when I cast on my stitches I accidently twisted it twice instead of once.  But since I am folding the scarf in two the twists match up perfectly.  I cast on 300 sts.  It is about 55 inches around and about 4-5 inches wide.  I used the rest of the yarn that I ripped from the sweater that I also made the arm warmers from.  It was about 400 yds of yarn.

Coffee Cup Sleeve

Posted by Jen on Monday Apr 6, 2009 Under Knit for Tea

This was knit from some leftover sock yarn.  This took about 75 yds of yarn.  The pattern can be found on Ravelry.  I had to use a safety pin to do the cables because the yarn is so tiny.  It went fast though, and the cables were fun.  The top has been stretched out from use, but now it fits really well on the cup since the bottoms are small and the tops are larger.

Acorn Bag

Posted by Jen on Monday Apr 6, 2009 Under Bags

This is a cute little bag, and easy to line if you wanted to.  I just cast on about 60 at the top, did an eyelet row for the I-Cord and then knit to the desired length and decreased evenly at the bottom till I had 6 sts.  Drew through those and seemed in my ends.  This took about 125 yds of aran weight yarn on size 7 needles and is about 7 inches long.  I also knit the first couple of rows before the eyelet row in seed stitch (1 in) to keep it from rolling.

My Knit Space

Posted by Jen on Monday Apr 6, 2009 Under Site News

Yeah!  My office is finally finished.  Plenty of space for laying sewing and knitting out, lots of good light from the three large windows.  Plenty of organization.  It’s just great!  I even got all of my needles, fabric, yarns, books, patterns, and UFO’s organized….it took forever.
