Just thought this was really pretty and deserved to be in here.  My friend crochet two of these for me from worsted weight Sugar and Cream.  I keep one at my desk, and I keep one in my knit bag.  They work so well, I simply love them!  She wrote down the pattern and gave it to me so I guess I better get to work making some for stocking stuffers this year.

Abersnobby & Ripped

Wednesday, February 25th, 2009

This is yarn I recently ripped out from an A&F sweater that was a thrift store find.  I didn’t realize it at the time, but it is 50% wool and was dry clean only.  Now that it is ripped out I just have to find a project for it and someone that loves it’s bright colors!  I have no clue what I will do with this.  I have a feeling that it might soon become a dog sweater or put in a trade of some sort.  I have half a sweater’s worth as the front had a zipper that was basically glued into it so I didn’t want to spend the time ripping it out.  I am trying to use the front to make a purse or something, so far it isn’t going as planned and will also probably end up in a trade.  It is definately a bulky weight.

Crochet Sock - in the round

Wednesday, February 25th, 2009

This is a crochet sock pattern that I designed in the round.  It has been tweeked a few times, and I plan on editing it yet again now that I have made a couple pairs of them.  They take just as long to crochet them as it would to knit them, maybe longer.  They are ankle length and go from the toe up.  They are not the most comfortable pair, do fit in a standard shoe, but the knit ones are so much nicer.  They are nice to whip up to put with a spa set if you don’t know how to knit.  They are done from 100% cotton and my mom loves to put them on after she uses her foot cream.  I used one ball of Katia Mississippi cotton acryllic blend for each sock.

Crochet Slippers

Wednesday, February 25th, 2009

These are a quick and easy project done from double stranded 100% cotton boucle` yarn in the round for the toe part.  They wash and wear easily, and are more comfy than the crochet socks, but not nearly as nice as the knit slippers or socks.  I did this pair and one pair out of mercerized cotton in a toddler’s size.  I like the tie on the top because it keeps them snugly on the feet.  I did not write a pattern for this, it was kind of a crochet as you go pattern.

Fingerless Gloves

Wednesday, February 25th, 2009

I have this pattern on file, but I am not posting it yet because it still needs some tweeking.  I have since traded these for some lovely sock yarn, but did like them while I had them.  They are made from 200 yds of DK weight yarn (Berroco Comfort DK), and knit up in the round pretty fast.  The fingers are pretty much a pain, but go a bit easier if you get the really short double points to knit with or use a short circ and do the Magic Loop.

I also completed four pairs of these not in the photo.  All without fingers.  One in blue with ribbing from top to bottom, one in multi colors also with ribbing from top to bottom, and the last with a cable up the back and no added stitches for the thumb with ribbing at the top and the bottom done in grey.  The last in a worsted weight for a man’s hands with a red stripe in the center with all seperate fingers.
