I am knitting these from the “Ribbed Slipper Socks” pattern I found on Ravelry. I am using a sport weight yarn 100% wool from Jo-Ann’s line. Using a smaller yarn than the pattern calls for makes these socks form fitting very nicely. I will definitely use this pattern again. You can easily use any needle method for traditional sock knitting that you choose. I have been working a lot with the Magic Loop method, so that is what I will be using for these socks. I was able to knit the whole sock in 2 days. Had I knit more per day, I could have probably knit the sock in one day. I will start the second sock tomorrow.

Both of these have been finished but I gave them to a friend. I did not take a picture of them both finished, so hopefully she can take a pic of her wearing them and send it to me soon! So when I get that pic I will post it. I hope to make a turtle out of the leftover yarn, but I won’t get him finished for a while, or even started.
Finally got a pic of the socks. And would you believe that she is having me weave in all the ends….for goodness sake, they are a free pair of socks! LOL Anywho, here’s the socks finished.

This shrug was knit from the Fiber Trends pattern. It was very easy and no snags from the pattern. I may end up doing another one though. I knit this one and it ended up being too small for my liking. I recycled the yarn from another sweater that I purchased that was way too big. This was a great project to carry around and work on since the pattern was so simple. I did extend the ribbing on the arms a little, I like my arms longer on my sweaters and such. I will probably end up giving this to my cousin who is smaller than I am and likes things tight fitting. Also this will be an easy care garment due to the cotton/acrylic blend yarn used.

This is a simple rib hat knit really fast in a couple of hours with a yarn called Modigliani. I liked it so much I knit a second for my brother for Christmas. He loved it! It was really simple, and fast considering it was my first knit hat. I was able to knit all but the very top in the round.

I knit this hat from Mission Falls 1824 Wool. Superwash and pretty nice to work with. The pattern, on the other hand was not too great. It shorted me 200 yds on the yarn. I still can’t figure that part out. Oh well, it is warm and works well. Although because of the time it takes to make this I will probably not make it again.
I did, however, learn from this project how to change colors in the round without having a stair step effect of the colors. You simply slip the first stitch of the round after you have knit one round with the new color. On the second time around you just knit as normal. It works like a charm.

These socks were made for Lorena, my second mom. She is more than a best friend and deserves these awesome socks. She picked Encore Bulky Weight for these so she could wear them as slippers around the house. They were knit on double points from a simple short row heel pattern that does not have a heel gusset or heel flap. While they go fast, I do not suggest them for anything but slipper socks. They fit a bit funky in the heel area.
