Change color to orange, sc for 8 rows

Change color to bllue, sc for 8 rows

Repeat from * one more time

Tie off yarn and weave in ends

Add on border (see below).

Sides Handle and Bottom:

(worked in one piece)

Using multi colored yarn chain 13

continue sc rows till piece measures around the sides, bottom, and 1/3 the length more that you will want for the handle.

Tie off yarn and weave in the ends.

Add on border (see below)

You may want to connect the handle together before adding on the border.  I did not, but would if I were making this again.

Border:

Same for all pieces

Using 2 strands of black crochet around all edges of worked pieces for 2 rows.

Increase 2 stitches on each edge to keep border from pulling piece in.

Attach all pieces together using one strand of black yarn.

You also may add pockets inside with the leftover yarn.  I did and felted them already sewn on and it worked just fine.

Felt and use

Afterthought button flap:

(this has not been felted, but could be made a little larger and felted)

Ch 11

Sc to desired length (about 8 inches)

at end of that row, ch 2 (instead of the normal one before turning)

Dc in next 2 sts, ch 4, skip 4 sts, dc in last 3 sts

sc 2 more rows making sure to have 10 sts per row
